NISO Webinar, The Library’s Role in the Research Process and Workflow, March 9, 2022

Helping people gain a greater understanding of the information community — our issues and concerns, challenges and opportunities — is core to NISO's mission. Our events are a key element of this, with our popular webinar program at their heart. And, following the NISO/NFAIS merger earlier this year, all NISO members can now attend all 14 webinars in 2020 completely free of charge! Judith C. Russell is Dean of University Libraries at the University of Florida. Previously she has served as Superintendent of Documents at the US Government Printing Office and as Deputy Director for the US National Commission on Libraries and Information Science. Earlier in her career she worked in marketing and product development in the information industry and in special libraries. In 2017, she received the NFAIS Miles Conrad Award in recognition of her significant achievements in librarianship and in fostering the growth of information services. She holds a Master’s Degree in Library Science.

Michael Levine-Clark, the Dean and Director of the University of Denver Libraries, is the recipient of the 2015 HARRASOWITZ Leadership in Library Acquisitions Award. He writes and speaks regularly on strategies for improving academic library collection development practices, including the use of e-books in academic libraries, the development of demand-driven acquisition models, and implications of discovery tool implementation.

Suzanne Wones is the Associate University Librarian for Discovery and Access at Harvard Library. In this role she is responsible for overseeing Harvard Library's Access Services, Information and Technical Services, Imaging Services, and UX and Discovery and works to identify and examine trends in information technology and digital library development in coordination with multiple departments spanning the Library. During her twenty years at Harvard, Wones has advocated for user-focused innovations and developed creative solutions to advance the mission of the University. In her former position as Executive Director of the Harvard Law School Library, she led operations and programmatic efforts, as well as strategic planning and budget management. Before this position, she served as Assistant Director for Research, Curriculum, and Publication Support. She also served as Head of Access Services at the Law School Library and originally joined Harvard as a reference librarian at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government Library. Wones holds a MS in Information, Library and Information Services from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, as well as a MA in American History from the University of New Hampshire and a BA in History from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
