What The Community Is Looking For

Helping people gain a greater understanding of the information community — our issues and concerns, challenges and opportunities — is core to NISO's mission. Our events are a key element of this, with our popular webinar program at their heart. And, following the NISO/NFAIS merger earlier this year, all NISO members can now attend all 14 webinars in 2020 completely free of charge! This includes an unlimited number of places and full access to a recording of each webinar for anyone who is unable to attend the event itself.

Dr. Roswitha Poll is member of several groups within ISO TC 46 SC 8 “Quality – Statistics and Performance Evaluation”, chairing the working group for international library statistics. She was chief librarian of Münster University Library from 1987 to 2004 and now works in projects dealing with the evaluation of libraries and other cultural institutions.

Hammer is the Co-founder and President of Index Data. He is passionate about interoperable systems and collaborative software projects. He has worked with library technology for the better part of three decades.

Sherine is Acting Head of Quality Improvement Unit at the Library Sector at Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) in Egypt. She is a member of IFLA Statistics and Evaluation Standing Committee and LD4 Steering Group. Sherine is a reviewer for international journals and conferences and contributed in many publications, published by IFLA, Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Taylor and Francis. She has also presented workshops sponsored by Université de Lille, ALA and IFLA and presented posters at Open Repositories Conference and Sharjah International Book Fair/ALA Library Conference. She holds a MBA degree in Global Marketing from Paris ESLSCA Business School and a certificate of the Centre National d'Enseignement à Distance «CNED».
