Emily Guhde

Emily Guhde is the Director of Library Assessment at Georgetown University Library, where the focus is not only upon developing a culture of assessment, but also a culture of improvement. She leads a small team of assessment staff and works with the library's Assessment Steering Committee to build capacity for evidence-driven decision-making. Together, they plan, design, and conduct studies that evaluate the quality and impact of library services and resources, aligning their work with the library's annual goals and objectives. In 2017 she was invited to serve as a practitioner member of the Association of Research Libraries' Assessment Committee. Last year she also collaborated with her colleagues in the Washington Research Libraries Consortium to convene the WRLC Assessment Interest Group, which facilitates increased collaboration and resource sharing among assessment professionals in the consortium. She holds a BA in Philosophy from Wittenberg University and master’s degrees in Library Science and Public Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill.
